At the Lake Lodge Bird on the Head Flower Goddess
Been working on my series of ladies and having so much fun looking at botanical books and birds. These ladies are/were suffering from winter madness and make themselves 'right' by getting their gardens in order. I have more in the works and will share their progress.

I love the last one with her hair flying in the breeze and not a turtleneck in sight. i thought spring had arrived but we had 3 inches of snow yesterday! i actually had to get the boots and down coats back out....boohoo!
warm wishes,
beth
skayI love love the middle painting - the bird on her head - just too cool!
word verification is weadis!
get that garden in order and deal with those weadis!
fun series! this is a bit of a sidetrack, but your garden comment made me think of a great book. Have you ever read The Diary of a Midwife: Martha Ballard (not sure if this is the correct title) It's an actual diary of a Maine midwife at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and it's wonderful. She speaks of her house and garden being "up in arms" when they are a mess and need tending. Also the expressions "get right with god" and "cleanliness = godliness" come to mind! :^)
Hi Beth... no turtleneck! Yep, we keep having snow on and off. It's killing my idea of buying pansies.
Hello Jeane... thank you! I love the idea of bird on head like a bird brain :)
Hey Martha - thanks to you too. I've never heard of that book but I'll look for it, sounds like it would be a great read!
