November Comes Creeping in...

Halloween was such a whirlwind this year... parties all day at school, ballet with more Halloween fun and of course - trick or treating. I'm still coming down from all the hoopla :)

Today is snow tire day. After several years with the 'all weather' tires, and many slips/slides and near accidents, this year will be different! Hopefully they will keep me mobile, therefore keeping the winter blues at bay for a bit longer.

I've got a few things to share this week... knitting, ornaments and new woodcuts. Stay tuned!

Long Weekend...

Christmas stars in our portal windows

The mini-tree my son builds his train tracks around.

Ahh, we've been having a great holiday around here, mostly hanging around the house and slowly pulling out the Christmas decorations. (my son has been asking since early Nov!) It began to snow while I was setting the food out on the Thanksgiving table... the timing was great and it seemed just like a scene out of an old movie. This is the first snow and despite good intentions, we don't have our snow tires on the cars yet. I delivered the 'Bone Alphabet' pillow and some other artwork to a local gallery and was slipping at a lot of stop signs, eek! While at the gallery - I heard most of my needle-felted circus Xmas ornaments sold yesterday morning, hurrah! :)
PS - I'll post Georgia O'Keeffe's bread instructions very soon...

Assembly Required

The little painting studio
and...

the printing studio.

I've been taking a break from making art and getting our house in order like I've mentioned in the past few posts. I thought I'd share some of the projects I've been working on. Finally assembled are these Ikea glass cases! I'm so excited to finally use them since I've been toting them to each house we've lived in since our wedding day!!! (I actually bought them for a house I was going to move to at the time of our engagement... never made it to that house.) Anyway, I have a strong yearning for order around here! It's almost like nesting when I was hugely pregnant. (no, I'm not pregnant!!)
Next... I plan to paint over some old canvases that I hate and recycle them into brand new paintings. I'd like to start painting big again in my studio - it will have to be a 'late in the evening affair'. But, maybe just a few nights a week, something could emerge!
