Winter Happiness

This morning at breakfast, I slipped these on... she still has her jammies on! Gotta love those little legs and feet!

My daughter's new ankle warmers.... didn't have enough left over yarn for longer leg warmers. But, these also double as wrist/hand warmers for moi! (who knew?) Sometimes experiments bring great rewards :)
My son and I had a valentine making party... he loves the glitter glue and I had to confiscate it after awhile because he was making 'glitter haystacks.' We are making 14 + 2 for the teacher and aide. He is very focused on making the envelopes... last year we made them out of newspaper, stamped with red hearts.

Finally I finished these socks for myself. These are my first cotton blend socks - usually I use superwash wool. Love the way these turned out! Happy weekend.

Noro Socks

I couldn't pass up this yarn... it's Noro brand - a Japanese yarn- they have the most beautiful color combinations. I was hoping to start a 2nd pair for a birthday coming up but, I'm not sure I can get them done in time. If not... Santa's coming soon after the birthday!
PS there's my new palm plant, I'm kind of new with house plants. I think it's cute but have no idea how big it may get - should plant it in a proper pot. Thanks for all your comments yesterday, I do appreciate them! I did some drawings this morning for more ornaments but did not get a chance to make any. Maybe Saturday... tomorrow's going to be crazy with a party at school and trick or treating ~ Happy Halloween!

These warm, woolly socks are for my mom's birthday... I have a way to go before mid-November. I better speed it up! This is that fabulous variegated yarn that ends up looking 'faire isle', I love it! Hoping to get back to painting tonight, wish me luck. Happy weekend!

New Socks

I love knitting socks. These are for my mom... they are knitted 'in the round' which is so easy to do. (I've never done it the 5 double pointed needles way). The yarn is fabulous... super wash wool and so soft. It is variegated and ends up looking sort of Fair Isle. I can't remember the brand now, but I know it's from Germany. Now I just need to learn how to knit gloves!
