A Doodle of a Quilt

Here are a few blocks of a quilt I've been mulling over for quite some time. I'm a lover of Jude's work over at Spiritcloth. So, I just had to try something inspired by her approach. These 3 pieces are sort of 'fill-ins' of other woven parts and experiments which I'll show another day :)

This hand sewing is what I love to do in the evenings when the comfy couch is beckoning and the kids are doing homework on the floor. It's what I do when I'm too tired to do anything else. It's a meditation on the day... what's happened and what's up for tomorrow. I guess it's my unwinding, comforting, thinking time amidst the chaos of crazy-kid evening time :)

Happy Friday! 100 faces coming this weekend! (didn't get a chance to print yet :)

Dream Dive

Here are a few sketchy drawings that sort of poured out of my as a 'free write' would. Trying to tap into more subconscious subject matter as a way to get some ideas for new work. I was surprised to see what spilled onto the paper... I'm hoping to move in another direction this year with subject matter... but, am not demanding it from myself. What are your art plans for the new year?

Thinking, Painting...

My spot at the end of the table... this is where most of the creating goes on... but lately, just been staring out the window, daydreaming. ?? Maybe it's the winter that's paralyzed my art making.

Just an idea...
Feeling like I have no direction... not sure what road to take. I have a show coming up in a few months - need to have a small but cohesive collection of something to show. But, I've been feeling kind of lost about what to make! How could it be?? I know it happens every once in a while but, it seems to be lasting a long time. Have retreated to my sketchbook to try and work out some ideas and just 'be'.
Finally posted on my painting blog, Take5!
