My First Garden

Hand painted woodblock print.

These are the Bleeding Hearts I planted in my little garden last year. I'm so happy to report they are still alive and sprouting up after such a hellish winter!!! As a fairly new gardener even the smallest things make my heart swell with pleasure. I think the Clematis did not fare as well :<

I have a couple of big Bleeding Heart bushes. LOVE them. (do you know about taking apart the flower to make 2 pink rabbits, a pair of fairy slippers, a pair of earrings and a magic wand? When mine are in bloom next month, I'll post it on my blog!)
I've never had good luck with Clematis...
I like the hand colored print! Perhaps I'll give that a try...

Hi Martha

I've never heard of such magical accessories coming from Bleeding Hearts... I'd love to see them! They'll go along with the new, adorable fairy Playmobil toys we just got for our daughter! (she may be a little young for them, but I couldn't resist.)
Thanks, I love to paint my prints, but am itching to do multiple plates... I just need to brush up on my registration skills.

Sometimes I like to use 'Twinkling H2O's' paints on the prints - which are sparkly (is that a word?!) They seem to have a high amout of pigment in them. You can get them at a stamp/scrapbooking store or online.
