I love these flowers and have inclulded them in one of my paintings. But, I have no clue what they're called and neither did the girl who sold them to me. Would love to know! Anyone know?

I believe it is a protea - south africa's national flower.

Thanks for your comment... I looked up protea and found lots o' flowers that looked similar but none just like this one. Anymore info??
Hey Beth and Jeane... have to agree, it's gorgeous! Hope I can get more when these are 'done'. I did read the protea family/genus is one of the longest lasting cut flowers.
