The Cooking School

A quaint little house that's been turned into a cooking school in a Pacific NW beach town. (I liked how it was perched up on a hill from the sidewalk). I used gouache on this ink drawing plus a bit of colored pencil. I'm working on being more 'rough and immediate'. More to come... This will probably land in the etsy shop but first, we're going for a good long stroller ride. The weather is legendary today and we must bathe ourselves in it! Happy holiday weekend :)

i really like the more "rough and immediate" style of this painting...it seems to have a lot of life or energy-i'm not sure if it's from the red of the building or the angle of the scene but it's really nice...

Hi Beth -

Thank you! I like working in this style... it's tricky not to get 'too messy' with it... but just enough looseness.
