A Little Announcement...

Flower Market - acrylic on canvas (??about 26 x 30? can't remember!) - a work in progress.

Well, I was trying to keep it separate... but I just can't keep the secret! As a way to get myself back into painting on a more regular basis, I opened a new etsy shop just for my paintings as well as a painting blog to document my process. Call me crazy, like I have the time to manage 3 different blogs?! We'll see how it goes... I just thought it may be a bit more organized and less distracting to have separate places for different mediums/projects.

So, this painting is featured on my painting blog, http://www.takefivepaintings.blogspot.com/. My plan is to post about once a week over there. You can visit my new painting store at http://www.take5paintings.etsy.com/. The shop is a bit empty but hopefully it will fill up slowly over time!

Thanks Beth and Paula :) I know I'm crazy... but it's been in the back of my mind for so long, it was time to do something about it! (as a small child, my dad was a musician in night clubs in L.A. He played that song constantly growing up... as a way to warm up or 'shred'. It's like a second skin to me when I hear it.) But, I digress!

Guess I'll still be chatting about fiber art, woodcuts and ink drawings here... just not paintings. (oh, that was a ramble... thanks for listening!)

Hi Brenda!

The new blogs look wonderful! Congrats! Beautiful cheery colors - I hope that someone Takes Five paintings right off the bat! I love that song, too. My older brother played that record album over and over, so it feels very familiar to me as well. (The song Take Five is featured in the movie Pleasantville, in that great scene when "Bud" shares his knowledge of the outside world with the eager young people in the diner where he's working...love that scene....)

And being a fellow ENFP (who likes to do many things at once) I don't consider you crazy!

Hi Willow (love your blog!) Thank you so much!! Glad you stopped by :)

Hey Martha... thanks so much- you're such a kindred spirit, you ENFP!! I love that scene in Pleasantville too and the song makes it all the better.
